A Vision To Behold

"Had the price of looking been blindness, I would have looked."  ~Ralph Ellison

I held her once my fickle friend before she had to flee
It seemed a mere moment that I could never seize
The only grasp I could hope to hold would never suffice
For beauty is a wayward kind that leaves before goodbyes
The only way to capture her and keep her in one place
Is a snapshot or paint and canvas held within a picture frame.

The Mighty Things II

"Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point."  ~C.S. Lewis

BRAVERY
It is not the man that can easily do what we are all frightened of,
but the one who is certainly afraid yet dares to do it anyway.

FRAILTY
It is not the heart that is easily broken with compassion,
but the one too hard to feel it that has taken the greatest loss.

POWER

It is not the hand that swings the weapon that holds the most power,
for it can only quickly move us about, but the one that carries the tools of the builders and weaver of the soul that hold the power to change our lives.

Hope Remains

"When you say a situation or person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God."  ~Charles L Allen

There has always been
blind eyes and silent voices
drunken fights and chilling choices
children abused and big mistakes
the innocent accused and namelless graves
deadly diseases and forbidden lovers
shaky knees and grieving mothers
crippling births and miseries of war
unquenched thirsts and broken hearts
idle hands and shattered lives
demonic plans and battered wives
heart aches and lost souls
....yet what remains
is there shall always be hope.

"Once you choose hope, anything's possible." ~Christopher Reeve

This post is dedicated to all the precious lives lost in Japan's recent earthquake, and the ones left behind, whose lives will never be the same.  Let us not turn a blind eye, and do nothing.

The Artistry of God

God loved the flowers and invented soil.  Man loved the flowers and invented vases.  ~Variation of a saying by Jacques Deval

You did not get here all by yourself my beautiful friend
every garden once had a beloved gardener
and each falling leaf once had a limb
the earth at times may seem parched
as the winds blow hard
but your petals hold a purpose
right here where you are.

The Callused Knees of Mercy,

The open arms of humility can build a mighty bridge
and reaching hands hold hope
that they shall surely give
but you cannot reach a hardened heart
with the calused hands  from condemnation's workings
for it can only be touched by the callused knees of mercy.
